On most weddings I photograph, I make new friends, some of whom I meet again over the years. It’s nice every now and then to shoot old friends weddings, as was the case last week with Mary & Damien. I’ve known them and their families for a good few years now, and knew at least a third of the congregation, so it was a great ol’ party for me, as well as a days work.
We started out at Mary’s home place on the Old Head of Kinsale. I’d never been out there before, and there’s truly breath taking views. You can see the sea on both sides, a true headland. Another friend, Dawn Ryan, was doing excellent makeup at the house for all the girls.
The ceremony was at the church in Ballinspittle, and the reception was at the lovely Carlton Hotel in Kinsale. Of course we had to stop in Kinsale for a pint in the Greyhound – what else would you do on a chilly Saturday in February? 🙂
